Storyblok is looking for a back-end web developer that is obsessed by performance optimizing applications to join our development team. In this role, you’ll be working in the backend team to improve Storyblok’s api that handle billions of requests from all over the world. With our headquarter in Linz, Austria and satellite offices in Germany and Brazil you will be able to join a remote-work-friendly team.

 Job Description 

We view this role as one of the most important blocks of our continued success.

You will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, planning and supporting the infrastructure. We also work with the development team to help with infrastructure, tests and automation topics.

You will need to be a good communicator and document as you go. We are remote-first across several time zones so please show your work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing, maintaining, monitoring and supporting the infrastructure.
  • Working to automate and improve development and release processes, implementing Continuous delivery and continuous deployment.
  • Developing infrastructure as code.
  • Developing scripts to automate.
  • Deploying updates and fixes.
  • Cloud management.
  • Troubleshooting to investigate and resolve technical issues.
  • Planning out projects to improve the infrastructure environment.

 Qualifications 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in DevOps
  • Experience in AWS
  • Experience with IaC (Terraform)
  • Experience with Linux, networking protocols, general utilities, and shell scripts.
  • Zero Downtime Deployments
  • Autoscaling
  • Experience with Cloud-native solutions
  • Excellent knowledge of how to fix performance bottlenecks
  • Fluency in scripting languages like Bash, Ruby, or Python

 What you’ll do if you join us 

In this role, you will be our analytical data expert who has the technical skills to solve complex problems – and the curiosity to explore what problems need to be solved.

  • Define data models that tie together disparate data across the entire organization
  • Create data transformation logic to convert raw data to fit the new data models that make sense for the users
  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
  • Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
  • Apply specialized skills and fundamental data science methods to deliver customer-based insights
  • Prepare and present data in the best possible ways for decision making and problem-solving through KPIs and dashboards
  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges and drive data-driven thinking
  • Build, train and test predictive models and machine-learning algorithms when necessary
  • Communicate findings to all stakeholders
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams

 What you’ll bring to the table 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Data Science
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of Data Mining, Machine Learning, and Statistics to solve business problems
  • Knowledge of SQL and Python; familiarity with Node.js is an asset
  • Knowledge of working with and managing Python in Notebook environments (e.g Jupyter)
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g. Amazon Redshift) and business intelligence tools (e.g. Metabase)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
  • Passion for remote working

 Primary 

  • Help enterprise customers to understand and get value out of Storyblok during customer technical demos, workshops, expert session and other on-premise calls"
  • Help to elevate the knowledge and capabilities of Storyblok partners to next level
  • Work closely with our Sales & Partner teams and develop strategies to activate our enterprise clients & partners in different regions"
  • Develop and create personalized, technical demos for enterprise clients
  • Develop sample applications, prototypes, and code samples to showcase the power and flexibility of Storyblok

 Secondary 

  • Become a Storyblok, modern web development & headless CMS authority
  • Support Storyblok community via long-tail support channels - Discord, tutorials, blog posts, workshops, webinars, and documentation
  • Support and reduce onboarding friction with the Storyblok partners
  • Contribute code updates and bug fixes to Storyblok’s public projects (e.g. SDKs, sample applications, starter kits)
  • Represent Storyblok online through the written word, event attendance, and public speaking

 What you should bring to the table 

  • Hands-on experience developing websites
  • Fluent English
  • Experience in working with monolithic/traditional CMS (Wordpress, Drupal, Sitecore, Adobe AEM, …)
  • A background in customer facing services/agencies
  • A passion for explaining and helping people
  • An excitement of the future technologies and modern web development
  • A background in supporting developers or developer relations
